The Shepherd's Mission Trip -Devotions

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:13-14 NKJV

Isn’t it interesting that all at once an assembly gathered among the shepherds exalting God’s magnificence and speaking words of encouragement? I believe the same thing happens to us when we make the choice to participate on a mission trip. People unexpectedly come into our lives cheering us on and fostering an atmosphere of Kingdom unity for the journey ahead.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…” Hebrews 12:1 NKJV The shepherd’s witnesses, the heavenly host, reminded them to stay focused on the giver of the gift/message. Our earthly witnesses, strategically placed around us, do the same. We can so easily become caught up in the details necessary to prepare for the mission that we forget the bigger picture. One encouraging Godly word brings clarity to our mind, refreshment to our spirit and reminds us of the author of our faith.

KESHER TIP: Consider booking flights on weekdays.
Our Christian brothers and sisters in other countries observe Sabbath too! How much easier it can be checking in at the ticket counter or going through customs when we have advocates helping us along our mission journey. “Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary and wise as serpents…’ Matthew 10:6 AMP

About Kesher International Missions

Kesher International Missions desires to see individuals realize their potential by being stretched out of their comfort zones and using their skills and talents in an extraordinary way for God! Jill's passion for global outreach started in 1993 after she participated on her first mission trip to Russia where she experienced first-hand the life-changing impact on the people who heard the Gospel, the mission team members and her own life. In just a few years and many trips later, Jill is using her mission skills and knowledge to mentor and train leaders in mobilizing their own teams to share Christ’s love with the nations.
